I first met Alexandre Villela about five years ago at a small get-together at a friend’s house in San Jose — an early Tesla investor and fellow Elon Musk enthusiast.
Alexandre had already been in the Valley for a few years, and what stood out immediately was his true “boots-on-the-ground” understanding of the VC ecosystem, combined with rare clarity of thought and communication.
At the time, Alexandre had experience at Intel Capital and Qualcomm Ventures, where he participated in dozens of venture investments, and was transitioning to DigitalBridge (NYSE: DBRG).
With over $115B in AUM, DigitalBridge stands as one of the world’s leading digital infrastructure investors and lenders, spanning five core verticals: data centers, macro towers, fiber networks, small cells, and edge infrastructure.
Alexandre joined as the first Managing Director of DigitalBridge Ventures, an investment platform focused on software-driven infrastructure technologies (“InfraTech”), leveraging the firm’s deep access across the digital infrastructure ecosystem.
During his career, Alexandre has led 40+ investments across Data & AI infrastructure, 5G & Networking, Cloud & Edge platforms, and Cybersecurity, giving him a front-row seat to the convergence of software and infrastructure now defining the next wave of tech.
In late 2025, SoftBank Group agreed to acquire DigitalBridge in an approximately $4B all-cash transaction.
Alexandre is leaving DigitalBridge to pursue a C-suite role at a listed company in the digital infrastructure space. In addition to that, Alexandre will join Fabrica Ventures as an Operating Partner — where he will play a key role in raising, sourcing, and managing Fund III.
Conclusion
We are excited to welcome Alexandre to Fabrica Ventures.
His experience comes at exactly the right time — as AI Infrastructure emerges as one of the most compelling opportunities in tech. Fund III (fundraising starts in the first week of May) will reflect that, with a stronger tilt toward the space.
